Maggie Klope

Maggie is a third year PhD student co-advised by Carla D’Antonio. Originally from Southern California, Maggie received her BS in Environmental Science & Management from UC Davis before returning south to work for California State Parks, as a biologist for a consulting company, and as a Lab Manager at UCSB. Maggie completed her Master’s degree in Ecology at UCSB in 2021 with her thesis on the effects of climate and large herbivore assemblage on plant functional traits and diversity. Maggie hopes to combine field observations and her love of ecological data science to investigate how global change affects plants and their community dynamics to alter ecosystem functions.
