Distribution of global photosynthesis from remote sensing.

New remote sensing techniques such as retrievals of Sun-induced Chlorophyll Flourescence (SIF) and Vegetation Optical Depth (VOD), plus novel ways of looking at traditional optical remote sensing such as the Near Infrared refectance from Vegetation (NIRv) have enormous potential to help us scale leaf or individual-level physiological understanding to the globe. We work to help elucidate the mechanisms underpinning these remote sensing signals.
